You don't have devices representing partitions on /dev/scdx under Linux (I mean 
/dev/hda is a
device and /dev/hda1 is the first partition on it, but /dev/scd1 is the device 
and there's no way
to address the first partition on it). So even if you succed in writing a 
partition table on it,
you'll have no way to mount it !
