Yury is the maintainer (previous poster) and he released the above version
"recently" (in April) that supposed to fix problems.

In the past there were several corruption problems posted all over the 
net but only one here (not from debian) but I've never seen any usable
bug reports (exact error messages, versions used, etc).

I understand Yury that he can't debug things if nobody tells him. E.g.
what if all users run it on a mounted partition and they ignored the
parted warning (fixed, it can't be ignored anymore) or it was used on
devfs but parted couldn't detect the mount state? There were such fixes 
in parted recently, AFAIR, but Debian still uses an old parted.
