bug detected with knoppix 3.7

Please find the following error during install process of knoppix 3.7 with the following commands ;

 

boot: knoppix lang=fr

 

open a terminal window, then:

 

address@hidden su

address@hidden knx2hd

Disk /dev/hdd doesn't contain a valid partition table

Warning: The partition table on /dev/hdd is inconsistent. There are many reaso

ns why this might be the case. Often, the reason is that Linux detected the BI

OS geometry incorrectly. However, this does not appear to be the case here. I

t is safe to ignore,but ignoring may cause (fixable) problems with some boot lo

aders, and may cause problems with FAT file systems. Using LBA is recommended.

impossible to create a new partition table and to format disk. Hard drive is a 20 GB Maxtor drive IDE, slave second map, Hdd.

the test before this one was unsuccessfull because an other error:

warning, unable to aligne partition properly .This .....

 

then i proceed a low level format....with a floppy boot disk of maxtor , 3 hours....but no result.

 

If you have the smallest idea, please send me back your solution, knoppix seems a so good product.
