RMS argued that it is best for GNU projects to have web pages hosted
at gnu.org, because this promotes the GNU project. If you are
interested in promoting software freedom, then I think it is worthwhile
promoting the GNU project, because it is clearly about freedom (as
opposed to other free software projects such as Linux).

Apart from that, I think gnu.org is the natural place users go to look
for information about Parted.

Finally, ftp.gnu.org is very widely mirrored. Many people expect to
find new releases of Parted there.

Are there any serious disadvantages for keeping the webpage and ftp
distribution of Parted at gnu.org?

Cheers,
Andrew
