To be understood I quote the exact steps that I did using parted ver. 1.6.15 as well as the error messages that I received.
- I wrote parted /dev/hda to enter to the environment of parted software. The software replied : "The sector size on /dev/hda is 2048 bytes. Parted is known not to work properly with drives with sector sizes other than 512 bytes." My hard disk is SATA 120 GB Seagate-8 MB
- When in parted I used the resize command as follows : "resize 1 0.031 90000 " to change the size of the only partion which is occupied by windows xp (ntfs file system). The software replied: " No implementation: Support for opening ntfs file system is not implemented yet"
