Support for GParted is provided in the GParted forums.

To help diagnose the problem, it would be useful to know the output from
the following two commands:
fdisk -l -u
where one of the options is a lower case "L" and not the number one.
parted /path-to-your-device unit s print
where /path-to-your-device is something like /dev/sda.

I restored some "lost" partitions with testdisk (the partitions were
created with gparted) ,testdisk worked fine and the partitions are now
usable. The problem is that gparted no more recognizes those partitions
and only sees the whole volume,a USB external HDD.So,how can I restore
the compatibility with gparted, and gparted recognizes them
again,without erasing anything,or without formatting the HDD.The
problem is now I cannot operate on any of the partitions with gparted.
