Memory fault with RedHat 7.3

To whom it may concern:

FYI, I installed the new RedHat Linux v 7.3 (valhalla) on a 386 machine
today, upgrading from RHv7.2. I had been running gprolog v 1.2.8 on RH7.2
with no problems. I had installed the binaries from
gprolog-1.2.8-1.i686.rpm.

The first time I tried to run gprolog after the OS upgrade, I got a "Memory
allocation fault." So I uninstalled gprolog and downloaded the source files
from gnu.org.

After running ./configure with default options, make halted with the same
error, at this stage:

==========================================================================
make[1]: Entering directory `/home/jack/prolog/gprolog-1.2.8/src/Fd2C'
gplc -c --fast-math fd2c.pl

Fatal Error: Memory allocation fault
compilation failed
make[1]: *** [fd2c.o] Error 1
==========================================================================
