If I remmember well that's a problem with some files created by texinfo 4.0.
They have a new entity (different than node) and it confuses the reader.
I fixed it but I didn't have time to release a new version.

Are you sure? Doesn't Ctrl+Alt+Fx change the console? I think it still working.
Never forget the editor, RHIDE and infview disables Alt+Fx but lets Ctrl+Alt+Fx
enabled. BTW the Alt+Fx combination looks quite silly to me, the OS specific
keys should be complex combinations to avoid collisions with applications. As an
example: In X happends the same like in the editor, lamentably a lot of Window
Managers uses quite common combinations for their own purposes.
