Try ESC TAB, it should go to the previous xref or menu item.

That's unfair: `man' doesn't have any cross-references to begin with,
so it doesn't need to solve these problems.

But I agree that if there are free keys left that can be used for
movong between xref's, they should be bound to these commands.  It's
just that Less uses so many keys that it is hard to come up with
something reasonable.

That's because `u' has a different (and quite frequently-used)
function in Less.  `n', `p', and `u' are remapped to C-x n, C-x p, and
C-x u, respectively in the --vi-keys operation.
