Thank you for your report.

Please send a short test Texinfo file, the results of its conversion
to Info, and the exact command line you used for this conversion.

In addition, please tell where did you get the MS-DOS port of makeinfo
(on what FTP/HTTP site) and what is its time stamp and size in bytes.

I just tried all the varieties of an accented `a' in a short test file
I prepared myself, and all of them were converted correctly by the
DJGPP port of makeinfo 4.0. So I guess I cannot reproduce the problem
you are reporting.

One possibility is that you are using non-ASCII (8-bit) characters in
the Texinfo input file. If that is the case, you should know that
Texinfo currently doesn't support non-ASCII characters very well; see
the section "Inserting Accents" in the Texinfo manual for the
description of what you are supposed to do. In any case, it is
important to know what non-ASCII characters did you use and how they
were encoded (i.e. what was their 8-bit code in the input file).

I didn't get any attachments with this message.
