Thanks for your report. I'm forwarding it to the texinfo bug list.
Hi Andreas, texnfo-upd.el (and all texinfo elisp files) are part of the
emacs distribution only, not the texinfo distribution.
If you're looking for Bob to pass agreement on the patch, then fine, of
course :). It looks like a straightforward case to me, FWIW.
