As the author I feel it's useful to have an index that lists all the
directives and nothing but the directives. It is not obvious from the
table of contents which directives are described where.
Yes, I can see that. The `(preprocessor directive)' kludge that Eli
mentioned is not ideal, for sure.
If Texinfo supported
@findex #define
and having it be sorted under d, I think that would be ideal. There
could be one index and the index entries would look like
the way they are actually used.
Anyway, I have no objection to your patch, but I need to delay merging
it until after this next release, which I need to make asap.
