autoconf variables in Makefiles...

Hi,

if I run the following, directly from my local CTAN mirror:
  $ sh /t/ctan/macros/texinfo/texinfo-4.2/configure
  $ grep -r '@[A-Za-z0-9_]*@' . | grep -v '^\./config\.status'

I get the following output:

Not, that this is a real problem, but it seems that the configure checks
are not in sync with the autoconf variables in the Makefiles.
