Agreed.
I don't know any language with udotaccent,
I just put all the plain TeX accent commands into Texinfo ...
makeinfo even without any option process this right to create the info
file. And TeX accepts other kinds of accented characters,
Wow, you're right. That is a surprise. I would not have expected any
commands to work in node names with TeX (I expect that's the ultimate
cause of the xref errors). A happy accident.
I see now that you're right, the @udotaccent in the @section command is
actually giving an error, at least sometimes. I'll look again at it.
