sure.  Such source is not portable, as you cannot convert it to
other formats (info, html, xml) and you may never be sure whether it
will work with newer versions of texinfo.

In case you have a need for something like this, implement it (or get
someone to implement it) and try to convince Karl that he should include
it into the official version.
