This is an unfortunate discrepancy between Info output and everything
else, and I'd like to fix it, but it definitely won't happen any time
soon.  It is complicated because leading spaces shouldn't be discarded
in @verbatim, @example, etc.  

In practice, I'm afraid it is more practical for the gettext manual to
be changed.
