Not intentionally.  Sorry if I zapped it unintentionally.  There is the
-I m4 argument to aclocal in README.dev.  That's the only auto* program
I ever passed it to myself.  Is it needed for others?


BTW, as long as we're talking auto*, what do others think of adding
"maintainer mode"?  That way the Makefile's won't get rebuilt spuriously
when the sources are readded to other source code control systems and
the timestamps get messed up.  Which seems to happen a lot.
I can't really see any practical downside to it, philosophically it
shouldn't be necessary, but ...
