I've made two silly mistakes in one mail!  Sorry.

You patch (which has already been checked into the CVS), implements
most of what I had in my mind, thanks.
Thank you also for the nice test file.

I have made slight modification to the redefinition of @indent and
@noindent.  I've added one new test case and changed another to
reflect my changes.

Both the patch and the test file should be attached, this time.  ;-)
