    BTW, these are not issues to me, but the 4.2-4.3 diff is empty,
    and since there no 3.7-4.0 diff all the 3.x diffs seem almost
    useless -- at least from the point of view of someone who needs
    to apply all the patches backwards to resurrect a relic!

Thanks for the info, I will try to fix.  Also upload all the old
releases somewhere -- I still have them.

I agree.  (Sigh, maintain.texi should have been updated.  A mail message
from rao to individuals does nothing to inform all GNU maintainers of a
new policy.  I never heard about this ...)

Anyway, since old-gnu is no longer accessible, and maintainers can no
longer delete old versions even if they want to, this all seems in need
of changing.  Maybe sysadmin will move old .tar.gz's to old-gnu, that
would be nice.  I guess I'll suggest it somewhere.
