I've tried it last week with my patched texinfo.tex, and it seemed to work,
if I deleted ``\\'' from the following macros:

        @macro tokbracel
        @address@hidden
        @end macro

        @macro tokbracer
        @address@hidden
        @end macro

I guess the ``\\'' was an attempt to workaround an existing bug, anyway.

I don't know about any pending bug in texinfo.tex .

I'd like to ask Akim (and other interested people) to test my latest
version of texinfo.tex, which is at
