I think that if the Texinfo language allows to mix typefaces, we
should give the author some reasonable guarantee that the result will
look close to what the author expects, in HTML and elsewhere.  In
those areas where such a guarantee cannot be given, we should say that
the result is unspecified and discourage such usage (because the
Texinfo manual is also the de-facto style guide for writing GNU
project documentation).
