OK.  Now, when I noticed that footnotes inside floats work, I'm not sure
that I'll forbid them.  Perhaps they'll just start work in captions the same
way as in other parts of @float, ie. the footnote is placed at the bottom of
the page where the @float is defined.  If the float goes to another page, the
footnote stays behind...

We could perhaps forbid the @footnotes inside @floats altogether, to prevent
peoples shooting in their foots.  OTOH, if the @float is known to be placed
"here", it moght be useful to have a @footnote (or a margin note) inside it.

I'll leave the old, simple definition for @shortcaption, which even doesn't
allow a paragraph (empty line) inside the text.
I second the reasoning given by Karl.

The definitions of @caption (and @copying) will be replaced by a more
another code.
