The following definition caused macro usage in section headings to
barf at my site when in PDFTeX:
% Utility routines.
% Thisdoes \let #1 = #2, except with \csnames.
\def\cslet#1#2{%
\expandafter\expandafter
\expandafter\let
\expandafter\expandafter
\csname#1\endcsname
\csname#2\endcsname}
This is [expletive of your choice]. It has to be:
\def\cslet#1#2{%
\expandafter\let
\csname#1\expandafter\endcsname
\csname#2\endcsname}
Trust me on that.
