Gosh, I've never used sed goto's before :). I wonder about
encoding=`sed -n 's/...your/expr.../' "$filename_input" | sed 1q`
Isn't that essentially what is going on? Take the first
@documentencoding?
Anyway, I installed the new patch. Thanks. I don't have any meaningful
8-bit test documents around, but at least it works on the Texinfo
manuals. Akim, can you see if it does what you need?
