I see no need to pass PATH
to secondary configure by ``env,'' it should be exported.
With env -i, it seems PATH, HOME, etc., are explicitly cleared.
(I'll wait to install this patch until this part is settled.)
To fix this, my code did:
rm -f config.status; cd $native_tools
