This means memory got corrupted at some earlier point, so, regrettably,
this by itself isn't enough to find the bug.

Can you tell me exactly how you are invoking screen?  Just "screen info"?
Also, can you tell me the screen termcap/terminfo entry that's being
used?  Maybe that will let me reproduce it.

I guess it's also vaguely possible, though not likely, that it's a
compiler bug.  If you have another compiler (version) to try, no harm in
doing that.  Also omitting any optimization flags.

Unfortunately I don't have access to any freebsd boxes.
