Thanks for the feedback.

    The remaining failures are all on Sun Solaris 7, 8, 9, and 10 (all
    SPARC) and Solaris 9 (x86) with native c89 and c99 compilers, 

I remember you reported this earlier.  Unfortunately I do not have
access to any machine with the Sun compilers, and I was unable to debug
it in absentia.  Can I have a temporary account on one of your machines?
