Hello,
It appears that a bug was introduced
between info 4.2 and info 4.7-2 (4.8.1 also has the problem) that is causing
the info dir to be repeated 4 times (I can scroll down and see the directory
repeated 4 times when opening the top node).
Attached is the dir file
.
Also, when I view the gcc documentation
with info, I get a message that says the gzip CRC is bad. When I
browse through the documentation with info, I get to a point where I just
see garbage. I found that if I decompress the info file with gzip
directly that I don't get the same status message and the file decompresses
just fine. Does info have gzip decompression built in or does it
call it externally, and if so, is it possible that the internal gzip has
a bug that has since been fixed?
