Of course adjectives to not have a plural form:
@end itemize
I can agree it's an error, but it's not exactly simple to solve. The
very next thing after @itemize could be an index or other "non-text"
commands, rather than @item. Clearly it should be possible to
distinguish the ok from the not-ok according to whether any output is
produced (I guess), but this does not exactly sound easy to implement.
Sectioning commands are accepted at weird places in info and TeX modes
...
Indeed. I doubt it can be reasonably diagnosed in TeX (using \outer
causes too many other headaches), but it should be possible in makeinfo.
Unfortunately, all I can do for now is add them to the savannah bug
list. It's doubtful that I'll get to bugs like these (nondiagnosed
errors) for the foreseeable future :(. I wish another active developer
with time to work would appear!
