Mybe a bug of install-info

Hi, all
I'm using mew --- a package of emacs plugin.
It's info docs has the following lines:

START-INFO-DIR-ENTRY
* Mew: (mew.info).           Messaging in the Emacs World.
END-INFO-DIR-ENTRY
=======================================================

in install-info version 4.12, the tool 
does not parse the entry correctly, 
in file dir, the install-info insert many space,
so the (mew.info) becames (mew.       info),
and the info can't find the correct entry.

But in version 4.9, the install-info works fine.

I don't know whether it is a bug of texinf or the Mew package.
But it seem it is more likely your bug, not the Mew.

Any reponse?
