    I strongly suggest to add proper

      @frenchspacing [on|off]

    commands to the txi-XX.tex files.  At least German and French
    definitely need this.

According to Babel, out of the languages supported by Texinfo only
English and (surprisingly?) Portuguese do not use frenchspacing.

I updated the txi-LL.tex files accordingly.  You also need the new
texinfo.tex.

Thanks for the suggestion.
