I don't have Firebug installed, and doing "apt-get install
iceweasel-firebug" will also upgrade Firefox (well, Iceweasel) to
version 3.

But Wireshark's "Follow TCP Stream" feature shows the following
request headers:

I don't think I've configured it in any special way, but tomorrow
I'll try the same thing from my office computer just in case,
which I think has the same version of Iceweasel.
