Follow-up Comment #3, bug #32312 (project texinfo): The NT POSIX subsystem (SUA) aka Interix can handle invalid file system characters to some extent by remapping them to other characters. But in this case there are multiple invalid characters in the filenames and therefore it fails. I believe the same is true for cygwin. SUA is also case sensitive by default and can handle names like AbC, abC etc. But in general this is a bad idea. FreeBSD have had problems in SVN which effects Apple and Windows.
