Hi, is it worth making a "snapshot" texinfo release
I don't want to. This problem would recur forever.
update when there is a new release (they don't seem to use the
texinfo.tex at ftp.gnu.org).
Then the distros should fix their processes. What's on ftp.gnu.org is
the official release. That's why it's there.
