Details:
Down here in the Debian bug tracking system we got a report about makeinfo not
behaving correctly: http://bugs.debian.org/583558
The @noindent command has no effect if it is not preceded by a blank line (at
least for the info file), e.g.:
@example
This is an example
@end example
@noindent
This line is not indented. As you can see, the beginning of the line is fully
flush left with the line that follows after it. (This whole example is
between @code{@@display} and @code{@@end display}.)
@bye
Process that file using makeinfo and inspect the output info file.
When removing the blank line after "@end example" the second block is
indented. I checked with makeinfo 4.13a and the latest source code from CVS. I
just compiled the makeinfo binary, but did not replace the whole texinfo
installation. AFAICT makeinfo does not open many files when processing the
texi file.
