I will fix the absolute path detection in any case, as my wild guess
is that it should not work on windows even if separatir is / and it 
seems that it is easily handled by File::Spec.

Otherwise I tend to agree that we should just declare \ paths to be 
known not to work, until somebody does a patch.  And even doing a patch
may not be the only condition, as there also would also be a need
for somebody taking care that it still works in the future which implies
following the development.
