The result is indeed interesting.  Does it look good in direct
html/dvi/pdf too?

Alas - it looks good - but wrong.

Instead of:

define-class class-name (supers ...) (annotation|option-pair)* field-or-method-decl ... [Syntax]

I get:

define-class class-name (supers ...) (|)) ... [Syntax]

I.e. the refs don't generate anything at all.
