In @verbatim, # is not taken into account, so @asis{#} won't even
be needed...

I disagree, there is a lot of cases where you may want to generate
Texinfo (semi-)automatically and therefore not use all the Texinfo
features. In that case, you necessarily do not use the full power of
Texinfo, as Texinfo is intentional markup and only a human can do that.
Yet, from the context, it may be possible to have some semantics put in
the generated manual and even if it is not the case, it may be handy to
generate at least parts of the manual from sources that are not
naturally as Texinfo.
