Details:
Hi,
on Debian we got two bug reports that info does not properly redraw the screen
in some circumstances. The first one I could reproduce with 4.13.91. Original
quote follows, the mentioned .info file is attached to this bug:
------- http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=596856 --
I have the following display problem. I don't think this comes from
the terminal as the problem is reproducible with both xterm and
gnome-terminal.
1. Open a 80x76 terminal (e.g. xterm or gnome-terminal).
2. Type "info ./mpfr.info.gz" (with the attached file).
3. Search for "random" (type: /random[Return]).
4. Search for the next 7 occurrences (/[Return] 7 times).
At the last occurrence, one has:
6.4 Removed Functions
=====================
Functions `mpfr_random' and `mpfr_random2' have been removed in MPFR
3.0 (this only affects old code built against MPFR 3.0 or later). (The
function `mpfr_random' had been deprecated since at least MPFR 2.2.0,
and `mpfr_random2' since MPFR 2.4.0.)
[several blank lines]
use `mpfr_get_z_exp'.
[...]
The "use `mpfr_get_z_exp'." shouldn't be there. It disappears with
a Ctrl-L.
----------------------------------------------
Another similar bug report is in
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=408463 which I quote here:
------- http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=408463 ---
Install libtool-doc, run "info libtool", search (s) for "symbolic",
and repeat the search (s RETURN) 3 times. On the third time, there's a
dropping of the part-word "ide" (from "idea") on the left-hand end of
a line under "man" and next to "These". I get this result in an xterm
of 34 lines and 127 columns, and an rxvt of 34 lines and 113 columns.
---------------------
This one I tried to reproduce without success.
Thanks
Norbert
