I generated HTML for the gdb manual using GNU Texinfo 5.0, and looked at
the output.
I see this in one page:

Prev
Refers to the previous document in an ordered series of
documents. Some user agents also support the synonym "Previous".
I think this means that "prev" is the preferred form.
