I'm *always* compiling from a fresh `svn export', then following the
same route as you.  So the problem must be elsewhere.

Attached you can find my `config.log' file.  For bootstrapping, I'm
using autoconf 2.69 and automake 1.15; the used perl version is
5.20.1, in case this matters.
