Hello Dimitri,
I've entered this is a bug in the bug database for Texinfo:
https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/index.php?45917. This way it's more
likely that someone will remember about this and finish the
implementation. If I remember correctly, my implementation wasn't
quite complete, and I couldn't test it anyway.
