Update of bug #35614 (project texinfo):

             Open/Closed:                    Open => Closed
                  Status:                    None => Wont Fix

Follow-up Comment #1:

I couldn't think of any good way to allow arbitrary text to be inserted in the
<HEAD> section of the HTML file, from the perspective of Texinfo source. This
could be dealt with by some kind of postprocessing of the HTML file, with a
special program or library for processing HTML. Some of this might be possible
with the customization API for makeinfo (since Texinfo 5.0). If these changes
were possible, there would likely be infinitely many other similar changes
that somebody would want to make, so I wouldn't support adding explicit
support for these iphone tags in the main Texinfo project.
