Others will have the same confusion and then go searching through the
manual, like you did, unless they're made to be consistent. That's why
I think it would be better to change it, unless there's an argument
for backwards compatibility.
I read through an old thread when the inline raw commands were being
implemented; I didn't find any enlightenment on this problem though:
