BINGO! That is the culprit. Here on Debian we have version 1.24 which
creates the problems, while your bundled version is 1.20. I looked through
the changelog (git log) of the 1.24 version but did not find anything
that jumped at me.
Anyway, I can just drop that for now. Thanks for suggesting the idea!
