I have removed texindex.awk from version control, because this seemed
to be the easiest way to resolve this. Please feel free to provide
another solution if you have one you think is better (e.g. which files
should be tracked/ignored and what changes to Makefiles are needed).

One possibility is to generate the file in ${srcdir} instead of
${builddir} so that the checked-out file doesn't prevent the file
being created where the rules to generate the manpage look for it.
