I don't know for certain why this happened, but I am guessing you had
"#stop" in your .infokey file.

Yes the first two lines in my .infokey are:

  #info

  #stop

I've made a change to the current code to support "1 menu-digit"
appearing in .infokey: this will enable 1 to 9 for picking menu entries.
