I can't say for other users, but it seemed to me that the PDF output
from LaTeX was subpar when reading on screen because the font looked
strange, and it turns out that it was because I had not installed
cm-super. I cannot weight that against the additional disk space (but
also bandwidth, install time...) of adding it.

I think that it would be a good thing to do.
