Nothing prohibits creating MSDOS partition table on device with
different sector size and we have no information what sector size was
used. GRUB does not any assumptions, it is simply using whatever block
size device reports.

I do not know. On my Macs I get Windows only for CD-ROM, where it comes
from El Torito.
