Thanks again Michael!

That helped a lot. The last thing I had to do was call the aclocal script with the directory that contains the libart.m4 file.

On my system that's:
aclocal -I /opt/gnome/share/aclocal/

But now I have a new problem:

automake looks for a file '././include/config.h.in' that does not come with CVS. Since it is in the .cvsignore I assume it should be generated.

How can I generate '././include/config.h.in'

ingo

Thanks for your reply.

I have looked for this package before, but I was only able to finde
libart_lgpl-devel-2.3.10-51 but this does not contain the
AM_PATH_LIBART macro.

Do you have a pointer where I can find the correct package ?

You need libart 1.x. libart 2.x is based on pkgconfig. Thats why it has no AM_PATH_LIBART.

Sorry, I cant help you more. I'm using Debian.
